Your itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Arusha town via Kilimanjaro airport

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport (and hopefully get your first glimpse of the spectacular Kilimanjaro Mountain) where you’ll meet your safari guide for your adventure with Green Light Ventures. Your guide will ensure you have everything you need for your trip and will give you a warm welcome. They will brief you about the country and culture and give an insight into some of the amazing wildlife you can expect to see. You will then be taken to your accommodation near Arusha town, a cool and stylish Eco Lodge hidden in the mountain slopes of Mount Meru. Here you can chill out in the hammocks or toast to your adventure ahead around an open fire.

Day 2 Safari in Tarangire National Park

Early in the morning, you will be picked up by your guide and head straight to Tarangire National Park, home to herds of Elephant families and the land of the baobab tree. This park has a permeant water source meaning you can visit all year round while spotting a large diversity of different mammal, reptile, and bird life. You’re guaranteed to see many elephants, zebra, buffalo, gazelle, wildebeest, impala, warthog, giraffe, and ostrich with a good chance also to spot lion, cheetah, leopard, mongoose, and many more. You will be provided with a delicious Tanzanian-style hamper for lunch with a great view of the river so as to continue the wildlife spotting even when stopping for lunch. There is also the opportunity to stop off at a hotel with an incredible view and enjoy a cold beer or G & T. Late afternoon, you’ll travel to a beautiful camp on the Great Rift Valley escarpment with more incredible views, this time of Lake Manyara, and why not enjoy this view from the camp’s infinity pool?

Day 3 Safari in Lake Manyara Nation Park

Today you will roll down the hill and find yourselves already at the gates of Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara is an attractive national park with a diverse and unusual landscape. It is situated on the edge of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, which gives life to the lake itself. The lake is a Salt Lake which is inhabited by flamingos who use it as a breeding ground. Hippos can be viewed in pools surrounding the eastern shores. The park has a beautiful woodland that gives life to a rich diversity of bird and butterfly populations and antelope that you are unlikely to see elsewhere. Forest elephants occupy these areas also but this park is best known for its tree-climbing lions. Also view Maasai giraffe, wildebeest, water buffalo, warthog, ostrich, mongoose, baboon, vervet monkey, blue monkey, and over 350 species of birds. There’s also a chance to visit the hot springs and lake pontoon to get those close-up photo shots of Hippos.

Day 4 Safari in Ngorongoro National Park and Crater

On the third Safari day, you will visit Ngorongoro National Park and Crater. Voted one of the 7 Natural wonders of the world in 2013. Once you’ve gazed on the sheer spectacle of the largest intact caldera in the world you can understand why. A crater formed by a volcanic eruption millions of years ago gives life to a wildlife paradise where dense populations of large mammals have entered and never found a reason to leave. Here it’s possible to spot the endangered Black Rhino where only 5000 are left in existence.

Home to flamingos, lions, elephants, leopards, serval, hyenas, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, hippo, ostrich, monkey, baboon, gazelle, crowned crane, and antelope, there is a huge diversity of species to view. Not only the animal life but the geography is like no other with the crater rim giving a wonderful panoramic view at all times encompassing a number of different ecological zones, including acacia woodland, forest, grassland plains, lakes, and craggy outcrops. Late afternoon you will head back to Arusha and have the option to visit a Maasai Village and learn about the customs and cultures of this amazing tribe.

Day 5 Souvenirs and onward travel

On your final day, there's a chance to shop for your final souvenirs before we drop you either to the airport or continue on your arranged additional adventures.
