Your itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Arusha town via Kilimanjaro airport
Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport (and hopefully get your first glimpse of the spectacular Kilimanjaro Mountain) where you’ll meet your safari guide for your adventure with Green Light Ventures. Your guide will ensure you have everything you need for your trip and will give you a warm welcome. They will brief you about the country and culture and give an insight into some of the amazing wildlife you can expect to see. You will then be taken to your accommodation in Arusha town where you can relax by the pool and toast to your Safari adventure!
Day 2 Safari in Ngorongoro Crater
Early in the morning, you will be picked up by your guide and head straight to the Ngorongoro crater. Ngorongoro Crater was voted one of the 7 Natural wonders of the world in 2013. Once you’ve gazed on the sheer spectacle of the largest in-tact caldera in the world you can understand why. A crater formed by a volcanic eruption millions of years ago giving life to a wildlife paradise where dense populations of large mammals have entered and never found a reason to leave. Here it’s possible to spot the endangered Black Rhino where only 5000 are left in existence.
Home to flamingo, lion, elephant, leopard, serval, hyena, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, hippo, ostrich, monkey, baboon, gazelle, crowned crane and antelope, there is a huge diversity of species to view. Not only the animal life but the geography is like no other with the crater rim giving a wonderful panoramic view at all times encompassing a number of different ecological zones, including acacia woodland, forest, grassland plains, lakes and craggy out crops. You will spend the day in the crater watching the wildlife and enjoy a packed lunch next to the Hippo pools! Late afternoon, you will drive into the Serengeti National Park where you’ll stay in overnight luxury tented accommodation. In the evening you can sit around an open fire, listen to the wild African sounds, and gaze into the stary night sky.
Day 3 Safari in the Serengeti
Today you will spend your time in Serengeti National Park tracking down some of the greatest animals to walk the earth. Truly one of the best locations on the planet to watch wildlife and see a huge variety and number of animals. Serengeti National Park has nearly 15000km of plains, teeming with animal life that will not disappoint! On this ultimate safari experience, you’d be unlucky not to spot the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Water Buffalo, Elephant) and there’ll be no shortage of action for you to see.
Day 4 Serengeti cont.
Spend the best part of the day adding to your animal list and by now you hopefully will have ticked off the Big Five (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino) along with a large list of other animals including cheetah, giraffe, gazelle, wildebeest, crocodile and 100s of bird and reptile species. On the journey back to your accommodation you will have the option of visiting a traditional Maasai village and learning about the culture of these amazing people. For your last night with us you’ll head back to your hotel in Arusha with pool and amazing views of Mt Meru.
Day 5 Souvenirs and onward travel
On your final day there's a chance to shop for your final souvenirs before we drop you either to the airport or continue on your arranged additional adventures.
